Eagles' Jackson Signs Four Year Deal

On Sunday, just one day before the Eagles' 2008 training camp is scheduled to start, the Eagles at last inked a much anticipated deal with second rounder WR/PR DeSean Jackson out of Cal State.

Jackson hopes to help out with special teams this year as the Eagles' primary return man, and may also figure in on certain wide receiver sets.

Jackson was the second of the Eagles' two second round draft picks, and No. 49 overall. Despite being considered by some to be the best WR in the draft, he dropped to the second round because of his small 5'11, 171 pound frame. Cumulatively, he scored 29 touchdowns in 36 games over his three year career, topping the 1,000 yards mark as a wide receiver once. He also scored six jaw-dropping touchdowns as a punt returner.

Only the Eagles' first pick, DE Trevor Laws from Notre Dame, remains unsigned.
